Vinmec International Hospital has officially opened a counseling and treatment center for mental disease and autism. Beginning the 5th of May 2014, the center’s goal is to provide mental healthcare for both adults and children.
Modern society, with its increasing speed of life, has put increasing pressures on people, including both adults and children, increasing the risk of developing mental illnesses. Many patients have been undiagnosed or lacking the proper treatment resulting in a decreased quality of life, labor force loses, and increased burdens for both the families and society.
With the desire to provide mental health treatment for both adults and children, Vinmec International Hospital has officially opened the Counseling and Treatment Center for Mental Disease and Autism on the 5th of May, 2014.
The center assesses and diagnoses psychological conditions of children with autism, speech delay, hyperactivity, intellectual delay, and emotional behavioral disorders. It provides outpatient treatment and performs psychological interventions for children with autism, speech delays, attention deficit disorder, and hyperactivity. The center also assesses, counsels and treats outpatients, including patients with cancer, infertility, postpartum mental health issues, and the elderly.
Some basic types of psychological tests administered at Vinmec include:
• DBC-P test: assess pediatric emotion and behaviors
• DQ test: indicators of child development from 0-6 years old
• IQ Test: for children from 6-15 years old
• Evaluation test for children with autism or speech delay (M-CHAT for children 24 months)
• Vanderbilt test: assess children with hyperactivity and attention deficit
• BECK, Zung test: assess anxiety and depression
• MMPI test: assess personality
