Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide and Vietnam is not an exception. A significant number of young Vietnamese carries the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure and coronary artery disease but they are not aware. The reason is that the symptoms of heart disease are non specific and difficult to diagnose. If compared with other familiar methods such as ECG, ultrasound, diagnostic imaging, biochemical methods is not widely applied but it has proved to be very useful in prognosis assessmet. Deputy Prof. Hoang Van Son, the leading expert in this field updated the latest knowledge in the biological diagnosis of heart failure and coronary artery disease. With the use of cardiac hormones in clinical measurement of NT-proBNP concentration in the blood of patients, biochemical methods can help to diagnose early heart failure even without symptoms, playing an important role in screening for high-risk patients.
The conference was considered as a useful professional meeting and helps to promote and enhance the professional quality of non-public medical sector.
